The USDA Rural Housing Service provides loans to very-low-income homeowners to repair, improve, or modernize their homes or provides grants to elderly (62 or older) very-low-income homeowners to remove health and safety hazards.

Placer County Office of Education Foster Youth Services partners with the Children's System of Care to identify foster youth so they can participate in the Independent Living Program (ILP) for Placer County. ILP provides training, services, and benefits to assist current and former foster youth in achieving self-sufficiency prior to, and after leaving, the foster care system. 

Eligibility - Youth are eligible for ILP services from age 14 to the day before their 21st birthday, provided one of the following criteria is met:

• ​Youth was/is in foster care at least one day after their 16th birthday
• Youth is a former dependent who entered into a kinship guardianship at any age and is receiving/received Kinship Guardianship Assistance Payments (KinGAP) between ages 16-18
• Youth is a former dependent who entered into a Non-Related Legal Guardianship (NRLG) after attaining age 8 and is receiving/received permanent placement services

Blossom Place provides safe housing, one-on-one support, and resources so former foster and at-risk young women ages 18-24 can learn life skills, achieve their goals, and gain the confidence to blossom into who they are meant to be.

Blossom Place believes one's basic needs of housing, food, clothing, and safety need to be met before you can move on to accomplish other goals. The Independence Plan is a step-by-step plan that moves a young woman through basic needs and into goals and dreams. With a mentor, a counselor, and a Blossom partner who acts case manager alongside her, she will work through education, career, health, transportation, and relationship goals. She'll learn time management, budgeting, cooking, cleaning, stress management, and parenting skills. The ultimate goal is for each girl to have all the pieces of the puzzle in place, and all the skills and the confidence in herself to successfully move on to independent living.

Perinatal Substance Use Services are a part of Adult System of Care, one of six Divisions of County of Placer Health & Human Services.

This program provides substance use services for mothers and mothers-to-be who want a clean and sober life. If you are pregnant, have children under 17, and/or are attempting to regain custody of children while trying to address your substance use, you may qualify for a variety of services and supports.

We welcome women who, in addition to substance use issues, may have mental health issues that contribute to the current circumstances. Examples of such needs may be feelings of anxiety or depression, which often accompany substance use. Services range from outpatient, detoxification, and residential and transitional housing. Some services may even include child care (while you receive treatment) and help with transportation to program.

McAuley Meadows is an independent senior affordable housing community in Auburn, California. The community features 59 one-bedroom apartments for seniors age 55 and older. The three-story property is being developed on a portion of vacant land on the Sisters of Mercy of Auburn campus. McAuley Meadows is designed to serve seniors with very low and extremely low incomes.

The program is designed to assist Placer County seniors age 60 and older get the resources and assistance they need to remain healthy and independent. They also welcome calls from family members, caregivers and other interested parties who are assisting seniors in getting the services they need.

Seniors First can provide information in multiple languages via a language translation service.

Auburn Adventist Community Services, at the Auburn Seventh-day Adventist Church, has been around since the 1970s and offers a variety of services for families and individuals who are in need, out of work or simply find that the month lasts longer than the paychecks every once in a while.
