Offers a 24 hour crisis line which is available 365 days a year to victims in crisis from domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, or dating violence, and for their friends or family members. Advocate/Counselors are available 24 hours a day for counseling and response to the hospital or law enforcement. Depending on circumstances, possible emergency transportation, food, and shelter may be available to those in crisis.

This is one of many possible First 5 Nevada County Ready to Grow (R2G) program resources. Ready to Grow resources are those that support the well-being of children ages 0-5.

There are two types of additional shots: third doses and booster shots. This information applies only to the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines. Additional shots of the Johnson & Johnson are under consideration but there is no information at this time. 
  • Third doses of the vaccine have been approved by the FDA and CDC for very specific populations that are particularly vulnerable. This group of people is outlined on the state’s website. If you are having a life-threatening emergency call 9-1-1. For example, if you have lost power to essential life-sustaining medical devices and do not have backup power for them.

FREED works with the California Foundation for Independent Living Centers (CFILC) and PG&E to support people with disabilities and older adults during the activation of a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) event or other emergency. The goal is to enable them to remain safe while independent in their residences and communities. Funding for some services below is ONLY for PSPS events and does NOT include generators.

Reservations for paratransit trips must be made the day before the requested ride or up to several days in advance. There is no same day service. Reservations are made by calling Nevada County Now (formerly Gold Country LIFT) at 530-271-RIDE (7433) or toll free at 855-314-RIDE (7433).
