Give an Hour is a national nonprofit that provides barrier-free mental health counseling through their network of mental health professionals. Volunteers work one hour per week for one year with people who qualify for our services. Current clients include service members, veterans, their loved ones, and those affected by natural and man-made disasters. In order to participate in the Give an Hour network, providers must register with the non-profit.

Adults live at Harmony House cooperatively, learn the skills necessary to live independently while receiving support as needed from highly trained Mental Health Workers.
 
Harmony House is located in the foothills of Auburn, California in the hub of other Placer County departments. Many services are centrally located for residents and can be reached within walking distance.

Residents are selected from the in-patient population of acute psychiatric facilities, state hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, or from the community. The Homeless Outreach and Medical Engagement (HOME) Team is a partnership between Nevada County, Hospitality House, Turning Point Community Programs and AMI Housing.

Call the HOME Team if you see or know someone who is experiencing homelessness. The HOME Team helps connect homeless individuals to services, including mental health services, medical care, public assistance services, and housing assistance services.
