When there is high demand on California’s electric grid, PG&E may be ordered to do Rotating Power Outages through different PG&E service block numbers. Estimated restoration times are 2-3 hours after the outage actually starts. The situation remains dynamic and shutoff and restoration times may change.
FIND YOUR PG&E BLOCK NUMBER
If there is enough advance notice, you can learn if you will be affected by a Rotating Power Outage by finding your block number at https://pgealerts.alerts.pge.com/outagecenter/addresslookup/?_gl=1*623ofj*_ga*MjAwMDU1NTUwMi4xNjk4OTQ5MTI5*_ga_FQYX57XZEJ*MTY5OTg5NjMwNy42LjEuMTY5OTkwMDE4Mi42MC4wLjA. or on your PG&E bill in the section that says “Service Information.”
The need for outages is determined by the statewide grid operator, the California Independent System Operator or CAISO, not PG&E. Rotating outages are not related to any issues with PG&E's equipment or its ability to deliver energy locally.

CALIFORNIA PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION #69029060
The CPUC’s Self-Generation Incentive Program (SGIP) offers rebates for installing energy storage technology at both residential and non-residential facilities. These storage technologies include battery storage systems that can function during a power outage. Depending on the battery and how much you are using it, batteries can provide power for several hours, or longer.
PG&E is a Program Administrator of the Self-Generation Incentive Program (SGIP) in its service area.
In preparation for the next wildfire season, the CPUC has authorized funding of more than $1 billion through 2024 for SGIP. This funding includes prioritization of communities living in high fire-threat areas, communities that have experienced two or more utility Public Safety Power Shut-off (PSPS) events, as well as low income and medically vulnerable customers. The funds are also available for “critical facilities” that support community resilience in the event of a PSPS or wildfire.

The Senior Firewood Program provides qualified seniors a limited amount of pine/fir to supplement their other home heating sources when wood is available. Also accepts donations of wood as able.
Anyone wanting to apply to receive wood or donate wood should call to learn the current status of the program.
Wood supplies generally run out each season, and there are not always enough volunteers to accept wood donations.
Call 530-615-4541 to learn when applications open and whether donations are currently being accepted.
At times when the Senior Firewood Program is out of wood, Project Go may be able to help both Nevada & Placer County residents if they are income eligible for LIHEAP (they do not need to be seniors, just income qualified). Call 916-782-3443.
Seniors may qualify for the Senior Firewood Program if they meet the following criteria:
