Children's System of Care offers comprehensive services for children and youth who may be at risk in Placer County.

Eligibility

Eligibility for Placer Children's mental health services includes full scope Medi-Cal beneficiaries, and County Medical Services Program (CMSP) beneficiaries with low or no share of cost. Those who do not meet these eligibility criteria are assessed on an individual basis regarding their need for services.

The Cirby Wellness Center offers free wellness activities and support services for Adult System of Care (ASOC) clients and community members.

Services include:

• Hosting group activities such as journaling, choir, gardening, hiking, and health education
• Providing support with job readiness, resume writing, and budgeting
• Offering help accessing housing, food banks, Medi-Cal, and mental health screenings
• Supplying all needed materials; no cost to participate

Additional notes:

Open to both ASOC clients and the general public. Operates within a county outpatient mental health clinic, where additional services may be available.

Rotary International connects community leaders to tackle humanitarian challenges, promote peace, and support education and health initiatives. 

Rotary clubs carry out service projects that address critical issues in local and international communities.

Services may include:

Placer County Public Health Department (PCPHD) partners with medical care providers in the community, and the California Department of Public Health, to prevent and control the spread of infectious diseases. We investigate and follow-up on reported cases and their contacts. Staff provide education to individuals and in group settings, and surveillance duties to reduce incidents and prevent additional cases.

The Community Technology Education Center (CTEC) provides services in Augmentative & Alternative Communication (AAC), which is the use of personalized methods or devices to increase a person's ability to communicate. Most individuals who use AAC rely on a variety of methods, from "light tech" to "high tech". CTEC will showcase a wide range of AAC systems.
CTEC is a place to:

• See, touch, and try out AAC technology, from light tech to high tech
• Connect with others
• Get assistance with the assessment, trial, and funding process
• Learn how to use new technology

And a place for consumers, family members, and professionals to get the support they need to make appropriate technology decisions.

FieldHaven Feline Center’s Community/Cat Assistance Team provides support and guidance to people seeking help with a wide range of cat-related issues, including feral cat colonies, rehoming, adoptions, lost or found cats, and behavior.

The program is run by trained volunteers and staff who respond to phone, email, and in-person inquiries. Services aim to keep cats safely in homes or managed in the community.

Services include:

• Information on cat health, behavior, and rehoming options
• Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) training and access to humane trapping equipment
• Support with finding alternatives to shelter intake and surrender processes
• Community education on managing feral cat colonies and preventing overpopulation
