The South Placer Fire District responds to structure, wildland, vehicle, and other types of fires that occur in the District. Medical emergencies, vehicle accidents, rescue emergencies, public service calls, and hazardous material response (at the first responder level) are part of the services provided.

Station 18 is located in the heart of Downtown Loomis and is designated the “Eagles Nest” due to its alliance and close relationship with Del Oro High School Eagles. The station's first due area has significantly high-risk hazards including Interstate 80, railroads, wildland-urban interface, and high-pressure underground pipelines. The Penn Valley Fire Protection District (PVFPD) provides fire protection, paramedics and emergency ambulance rescue, residential fire and life inspections, fire information and safety presentations, fire education to the public, and a firefighter intern program for students considering a career in the Fire Services.

The district operates three fire stations, two of which are staffed twenty-four hours a day with a minimum of two personnel. The third station relies on off-duty personnel for staffing.

About the Map:

• Risk Levels: The map classifies areas into three categories:
  • Moderate: Areas with a low-to-moderate risk of wildfire due to vegetation type and density.
  • High: Areas with conditions that increase the likelihood of wildfire spread.
  • Very High: Areas where wildfire behavior is expected to be extreme, posing the highest risk to life, property, and natural resources.

The map allows users to enter an address to determine the fire hazard severity for specific locations.
