Children's System of Care offers comprehensive services for children and youth who may be at risk in Placer County.

Eligibility

Eligibility for Placer Children's mental health services includes full scope Medi-Cal beneficiaries, and County Medical Services Program (CMSP) beneficiaries with low or no share of cost. Those who do not meet these eligibility criteria are assessed on an individual basis regarding their need for services.

The Community Support Network of Nevada County brings together agencies, organizations, and individuals in Nevada County to share information, build partnerships, and support local families.

Services include:

• Monthly community meetings focused on collaboration and learning
• Advocacy around family well-being and community health
• Information sharing about programs, events, and community needs

Public meetings are held on Zoom the first Wednesday of most months, from 3:30-5pm. Meetings are paused in July, August, and sometimes December.

The Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) program coordinates volunteers to advocate for the best interests of children who are dependents of the Nevada County Juvenile Dependency Court, helping to ensure they have a chance to live in a safe and permanent home.

For an application packet, contact the CASA program. The application includes a personal interview and comprehensive background check. Trainings for the CASA Program are held in the spring and fall; however interested persons can apply at any time. Volunteers must have driver's license and current insurance.
