The Sierra Vista Community Center is located in downtown Colfax, California and serves the foothills of Placer and Nevada Counties.

Sierra Vista Center, Inc. is a non-profit corporation that is home to community service programs, activities, and classes for all age groups in the Colfax area.

Sierra Vista sponsors activities and rents our facility, which includes meeting space, a gymnasium, commercial kitchen, and ball field.

We are home to:
  • Licensed commercial kitchen
  • Weekly classes in art, dance, meditation, yoga, and more
  • Monthly Flea Market & community food bank
  • Community meetings
  • Seasonal Farmers’ Markets
  • Special events

Regular monthly distributions from Placer Food Bank will continue as usual for the Free Farmers Market at Sierra Vista Community Center. Drive-Thru only food distribution. Open to everyone.

Loomis Senior Life Center provides numerous programs and meets at the 1st United Methodist Church in Loomis. The center's goal is to expand the mind, the body, and the spirits of seniors to enable them to stay in their homes for as long as possible.

Programs include:
  • Zumba Gold at 9 am
  • Stretchersize at 10 am
  • Yoga at 11:00 am on Tuesdays and Thursdays
  • Tai Chi starts at 9:00 am
  • Art class on Tuesdays from 9:00 to noon
  • Sewing and quilting on Thursdays from 9:00 to noon
  • Special programs (provided once in a while)
    • Choirs
    • Instrumentalists
    • Speakers on topics of interest to seniors
    • Card games
    • Board games
    • Conversation

All services are provided for $4.00 per person per day.

Loomis Senior Life Center provides a continental breakfast and a full nutritious hot lunch each day. There is a pianist that plays at lunch time. Come and share your joys and concerns in a warm, friendly atmosphere.

Well Connected (formerly Senior Center Without Walls) and Well Connected Español are phone and online programs offering activities, education, friendly conversation, and an assortment of classes and support groups to older adults accessible from the comfort of home. The programs consist of participants, staff, facilitators, presenters, and other volunteers who care about each other, and who value being connected to engaging content, and to each other. All activities are free to participants and are available in English and Spanish.

Well Connected members can play a game, learn a language, write a poem, go on a virtual tour, meditate, share a gratitude, get support, and most importantly, connect and engage with others every day across the country. Well Connected is a Community Service of Covia and is free of charge to all participants and available to adults over the age of 60.
