From time to time the County of Nevada Office of Emergency Services receives masks and hand sanitizer Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to distribute for free to local small businesses with 25 employees or less.

The County of Nevada Office of Emergency Services (OES) is offering local small business owners, with 25 employees or less, masks and hand sanitizer at no cost. This personal protective equipment (PPE) has been made available to California small businesses through the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (CalOES) in collaboration with the Office of the Small Business Advocate (CalOSBA).

PPE will be available for pick up in Western Nevada County at two locations: the Nevada County Contractors Association and the Grass Valley Chamber of Commerce. In Truckee, small businesses may pick up PPE from the Truckee Chamber of Commerce.

AT-HOME COVID-19 TESTING GUIDANCE & HOW TO REPORT A POSITIVE TEST RESULT if desired

When to use a home test
  • Test the same day you plan to go to a gathering or visit a vulnerable family member, even if you have no symptoms
  • Test if you have any COVID-19 symptoms
  • Test 3 to 5 days after a known exposure to someone with COVID
  • Consider testing 3 to 5 days after a large gathering
 
What is in the box?
  • Each box has two tests with detailed instructions
  • Follow the test instructions exactly!
Understand you results
If the test is positive: Stay home from work or school and contact your doctor right away.
There are new treatments that you may be eligible to receive. Isolate for 10 days after the

2/28/22 - Nevada County aligns with state face covering guidance from the California Department of Public Health (CDPH).

The state of California announced changes to masking guidance on February 28, 2022:
  • Effective March 1, 2022 , the requirement that unvaccinated individuals mask in indoor public settings will move to a strong recommendation that all persons, regardless of vaccine status, continue indoor masking. 
  • Universal masking shall remain required in specified high-risk high transmission settings like public transit, emergency shelters, health care settings, correctional facilities, homeless shelters and long-term care facilities. As always, local jurisdictions may have additional requirements beyond the state guidance.
