Tahoe Area Regional Transit offers a complementary ADA paratransit service that is comparable to the level of fixed route bus service provided by TART. This means that ADA complementary taxi service is provided during the hours of 6am to 6pm, 7 days a week in the same areas served by the TART fixed route buses.

For those who are eligible:
  •  A person must call 24hrs before a ride is needed to request a trip.
  • Trips can be requested up to 14 days in advance.
  • Subscription service is available, but restrictions may apply.
  • Fares can be no more than twice the TART fixed route base fare for the same trip.
  • Trips can be requested for any purpose.
  • An eligible person’s access to complementary paratransit service cannot be limited by patterns of refusals, unusually long trips, late pick ups, or other such factors.

Provides bus service on Lake Tahoe's North Shore covering the following areas:
  • Tahoma to Incline Village
  • Tahoe City to Truckee
  • Truckee to Crystal Bay
TART operates 7 days a week, including Christmas day and all holidays.

TART transportation connects with Greyhound, Amtrak, and Truckee Transit at the Truckee Depot. TART offers a central transfer point between bus lines in Tahoe City. TART also offers ADA complimentary service for individuals who cannot ride a public bus due to physical, mental, or other health issues. If a person qualifies, then he/she can get door to door service within the TART fixed route.

Truckee’s Dial-A-Ride operates 7 days per week (year-round) available within Truckee for seniors, persons with disabilities, and the general public. It is an economical door-to-door service and ADA certified passengers are free to ride. 

Hours/Locations of Operation
This paratransit service is available for trips within the town limits, Monday through Friday 8am – 5pm and Saturday and Sunday 9am – 5pm.

For those who are eligible:
  • Reservations are required 24-hours in advance of your trip on weekdays and by 5pm on Friday for weekend trips. Same day reservations are not accepted.
  • Wheelchairs must be fitted with working brakes, and motorized wheelchairs must be turned off while on-board the bus. Wheelchairs must be secured in the bus with tie downs.

The Town of Truckee offers both Fixed Route and Dial-A-Ride service in the Truckee area.

These services provide a range of options for travelers to access recreation, employment, shopping, and social service opportunities while helping our region’s environment.

Truckee Dial-A-Ride: Door to door service provided under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Persons with disabilities that prevent them from taking the Truckee Transit Fixed Route system should contact Truckee Transit to receive priority service on the Dial-A-Ride. Volunteer Drivers
Placer County residents can enlist a relative, neighbor, friend, or a pool of existing volunteer drivers to get them to non-emergency medical appointments, public assistance, and quality of life types of services. Volunteer drivers must have an approved application on file to receive reimbursement.
