iFoster’s mission is to ensure that every child growing up outside of their biological home has the resources and opportunities they need to become successful, independent adults. We provide a free platform of resources for foster care youth, caregivers, and organizations.

• INSIGHT RESPITE CENTER (IRC) is a four-bedroom home in rural Nevada County that is peer operated. The team fosters a stigma-free supportive and healing environment for adults (18+) with mental health symptoms who are experiencing a difficult time in their community. The team provides respite services to prevent a crisis from occurring or requiring hospitalization. The SAFE (Stability, Access, Foundation, Empowerment) program is committed to finding, and helping youth ages 12 -26 who are experiencing homelessness.

Many youth experiencing homelessness do not have access to local or state funding, or simply don’t know what services are available. And few nonprofit organizations in the region are able to help. SAFE fills the gap by connecting youth who have alternative, unpredictable, or inconsistent housing access with community resources and well-trained professionals.

SAFE helps mitigate homelessness in Nevada County by providing:

• Basic needs, such as food, clothing, housing
• Education and training, including transitioning to college and/or trade school
• Physical health and mental wellness counseling
• Training to develop the necessary skills to live independently

Provides a residential discipleship/counseling ministry for troubled young people, females 15-24 years old and males 15-21 years old.

We work with young people who are aware of their need for help. Our primary focus is to assist people in the development of responsible behavior patterns and to confront weaknesses which prevent adequate adjustment.

The living situation is co-educational, family oriented, and designed to promote honesty, empathy and effective interpersonal communication. Students are provided with 24-hour supervision in a loving and safe atmosphere. They receive discipleship, professional counseling, high school education, and social interaction with staff, trainees, and a small group of students (not more than 18 in number).

AMI Housing, Inc (AMIH) is a California 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation that provides housing, employment and life skills programs to residents of Nevada County and Placer County who otherwise might be homeless. Nevada County residents must be clients of Turning Point. Offers assistance in multiple languages through a Language Line service.

AMIH has funding for specific programs to serve Transition Age Youth (TAY) ages 18-24 in PLACER COUNTY.

Blossom Place provides safe housing, one-on-one support and resources so former foster and at-risk young women ages 18-24 can learn the life skills, achieve the goals and gain the confidence to blossom into who they are meant to be.

Blossom Place believes one's basic needs of housing, food, clothing and safety need to be met before you can move on to accomplish other goals. The Independence Plan is a step-by-step plan that moves a young woman through basic needs and into goals and dreams. With a mentor, a counselor and a Blossom partner who acts case manager alongside her, she will work through education, career, health, transportation and relationship goals. She'll learn time management, budgeting, cooking, cleaning, stress management and parenting skills. The ultimate goal is for each girl to have all the pieces of the puzzle in place, and all the skills and the confidence in herself to successfully move on to independent living.

Unity Care is a national accredited, strengths-based, family-focused, and culturally proficient youth and family agency. Unity Care’s goal is to provide safe, stable and affordable housing for youth and young adults as they age out of foster care and to provide them with the supportive services they need to achieve self-sufficiency.

Program eligibility: 16-24 years old, residing in western Placer County, early onset mental health symptoms.
