Tahoe Forest Hospital District provides a Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehabilitation program.  The program offers exercise for cardiac recovery, pulmonary rehabilitation, seniors or anyone needing to work with nurses and exercise physiologists for an individualized, medically monitored exercise plan. These classes are appropriate for all fitness levels.

Nevada County Public Health coordinates free, anonymous distribution of naloxone (Narcan) and fentanyl test strips through county programs and community partners. 

Naloxone is a life-saving medication that can reverse opioid overdoses, and is available to both the general public and Behavioral Health clients.

Pick-up sites include public health locations, behavioral health offices, and designated partners throughout Eastern and Western Nevada County. Many sites do not require an appointment or identification.

Services include:

• Free naloxone (Narcan) kits and fentanyl test strips
• Anonymous access; no ID or registration required at most locations
• Pharmacy guidance for over-the-counter naloxone purchases
• Referrals to harm reduction and overdose prevention services

  • This group assists participants in processing the loss of a loved one, easing the burden of grieving alone, and offering skills for adjusting to a new life situation.

  • This informal support group helps participants  transition into the fourth trimester, and is provided by registered nurses, international board-certified lactation consultants, and certified lactation educators.
• Parkinson's Support Group
  • A community support group in where members can share their experiences, knowledge and coping strategies.
