Public Health Nursing is a program of the County of Placer Public Health

Public Health (PH) Nurses are Registered Nurses who have additional training and certification to work in the community and the field of Public Health. Our goal is to meet preventive health needs of families and individuals, and promote positive health behavior. Our nurses offer in-home care to new parents, children, and the elderly.

If you or someone you know could benefit from Public Health Nursing assistance, start by submitting a Public Health Nursing Referral Form (PDF) to our office. Once received, our nurses contact the referred individual to offer services.

The goal of the UC CalFresh Healthy Living Program is to offer CalFresh recipients and those eligible for CalFresh quality nutrition education geared toward promoting greater self-sufficiency. Classes and mini-workshops help participants improve their cooking, shopping, and money management skills, so they can stretch their financial resources and improve their eating habits.

WIC is a nutrition program that helps pregnant women, new mothers, and young children under age five eat well, be active, and stay healthy.
