Disabled American Veterans is an organization of disabled veterans who are focused on building better lives for disabled veterans and their families. The organization accomplishes this goal by providing free assistance to veterans in obtaining benefits and services earned through their military service. The Disabled American Veterans, or DAV, is a nonprofit association of veterans who suffered some degree of disability while serving in time of war or armed conflict.

Founded in 1920, the DAV is totally funded by dues and contributions, receiving no federal funding. With National Headquarters offices in Cincinnati and Washington D.C. and California's Headquarters offices in Santa Fe Springs, the DAV focuses strictly on serving veterans and their families.

A nonpolitical organization it has no political action committees (PACS) and endorses no political candidates. Today there are more than 1.25 million members of the DAV with more than 116,000 residing in California.

The Paralyzed Veterans of America, a congressionally chartered veterans service organization founded in 1946, has developed a unique expertise on a wide variety of issues involving the special needs of their members - veterans of the armed forces who have experienced spinal cord injury or dysfunction.

The Army Recovery Care Program (ARCP) (formerly known as Warrior Care and Transition Program is the official U.S. Army program that assists and advocates for severely wounded, injured, and ill Soldiers and their Families, wherever they are located, for as long as it takes.

ARCP provides individualized support to this unique population of Soldiers, who were injured or became ill during their service in the Global War on Terrorism.

The Blinded Veterans Association works to promote the welfare of blinded veterans so that, notwithstanding their disabilities, they may take their rightful place in the community and work with their fellow citizens toward the creation of a peaceful world.

BVA’s primary efforts include a National Field Service Program, advocacy before Congress and the Department of Veterans Affairs, scholarships for spouses and dependent children and grandchildren, and special initiatives such as Operation Peer Support/Project Gemini in which older veterans connect with those recently injured in Iraq and Afghanistan, including those from BVA’s sister organization in the United Kingdom.
