The mission of Alta California Regional Center is to create partnerships to support all eligible individuals with developmental disabilities, children at risk, and their families in choosing services and supports through individual lifelong planning as a means to achieve healthy and productive lives in their own communities Alta California Regional Center serves individuals who have intellectual and developmental disabilities, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, autism, and other similar conditions.

The California Housing Finance Agency (CalHFA ) is excited to announce our Accessory Dwelling Unit Grant Program and we are looking to our local government partners to help us reach qualifying homeowners.
Eligible homeowners could receive up to $40,000 to fund ADU predevelopment and closing costs (including interest rate buydowns).

FREED's Fix-It program organizes volunteers to make minor home repairs or modifications which are health or safety related. Modifications may include installation of grab bars and hand rails, repair or replacement of electrical fixtures and leaking drains, help with ramps, and minor repairs to entry steps and porches. Modifications support people with disabilities, including seniors, so that they may continue to live in their own homes. 

This program is offered through the Main Office site in Grass Vallely AND the Branch Office site in Yuba City.

Habitat for Humanity builds affordable homes in partnership with local low-income families.

Offers the Habitat Home Ownership Program that provides an opportunity for local, low-income families to purchase a simple, decent, affordable home in Nevada County. 

Families are chosen based on three basic eligibility criteria:
1. Need - family income is between 30% to 80% of the median income in Nevada County.
2.  Ability To Pay - verify that the family does have a steady income in order to successfully pay the monthly mortgage payments.
3. Willingness To Partner with Habitat - The family agrees to do 500 "sweat equity" hours helping build their home or providing another service to the organization.  

The NC Habitat Homeowner selection committee carefully reviews applications, conducts interviews, and makes home visits to ensure that the families selected have the greatest need and likelihood of success as homeowners.
