The Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians opened the Shingle Springs Tribal TANF Program June 1st, 2010 and now provides TANF assistance and related support services to eligible Native Americans and their families residing in El Dorado, Placer and Sacramento Counties in California.

The Shingle Springs Tribal TANF Program incorporates culture and traditions into all aspects of the program in order to strengthen and solidify the Native families and assist in addressing and resolving issues which create barriers to self sufficiency.

The Shingle Springs Tribal TANF Program provides important tools and skills which empower Native families in becoming self-sufficient, so they can support and nurture themselves, their children, families, and community.

Offers free pregnancy testing, education, pregnancy options education, STD/STI testing and education, material assistance, and community resource referrals. 

Offers comprehensive sex health education to students and adults. Available to present multiple topics regarding relationship and sexual health to youth groups or parent groups at no charge.

Provides reproductive healthcare clinic services in a confidential manner for men, women and teens. Services include contraception, STI/HIV testing, STI treatment, gynecological exams, adoption information, and pregnancy termination/abortion referrals including ride information. Also provides outreach in the community, public policy support and certified health/sex educators for sex education programs for schools as required by California State laws.

Lifetime Adoption Foundation offers adoption assistance for pregnant women, children up to 14 years, and families seeking to adopt. All adoption opportunities for birth mothers and adoptive families are funded through tax deductible donations from individuals, estates, and corporations.

Offers confidential reproductive health education, family planning, mental health counseling and support, and STD testing and treatment services for youth up to 21 years of age.

The STEPP PROGRAM was established in 1998.

STEPP is a district program for pregnant and parenting teens.

STEPP offers a quality child development program with an Infant/Toddler center on site at Sierra High School.

Students enrolled in the STEPP Program participate in parenting and life-skill classes after their academic day. We offer an infant and toddler childcare center on-site at Sierra High School for district students and their children. We have free childcare for these students while they are attending school and pursuing the goal of graduation.

In the afternoon of the program the students are required to attend parenting and life skill classes to help assist them in becoming good parents and being able to take care of themselves and their children.

The Nevada County Public Health Department in Truckee offers confidential reproductive health services to teens including abstinence education, birth control education and supplies, decision-making counseling and support, pregnancy testing and referrals, emergency contraception supplies, STD testing and referrals, Hepatitis A and B vaccinations, HPV vaccinations, mental health counseling and support, and referrals to community services.

Visit the walk-in clinic every Wednesdays from 1-4pm or make an appointment on other clinic days. Appointments and all services are FREE, CONFIDENTIAL, and provided in a SAFE and WELCOMING teen space.

ReachOut USA (DBA of Inspire USA Foundation) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization for teens and young adults that meets youth where they are to deliver peer support and mental health information in a safe and supportive online space.

ReachOut does not provide online counseling, but provides an anonymous and supportive space where young people can find the information that they need and can voice their opinions and thoughts without fear of being judged or being different.

Provides education, outreach, and implements strategies to support youth and prevent suicides.
