CarePatrol is a free senior housing placement service that helps families find independent living, assisted living, memory care, and in-home care options.

CarePatrol assesses client’s care level needs, financial needs and general preferred locations to recommend the best and safest care options.

CarePatrol’s nationally certified senior care advisors review each community’s care history and state violations in order to recommend the safest options for assisted living for seniors.

CarePatrol can also help veterans and their spouses get aid and funding for assisted living and memory care. Clients who are veterans may be eligible for Veterans Administration Aid and Attendance benefits.

Though CarePatrol‘s office is located in Auburn, CarePatrol serves seniors all over Placer County and can travel to a location convenient for the senior being served.

After an initial consultation, Silver Pathways services begin with a thorough assessment of the client’s condition, health and prognosis. From these results, we construct a lifestyle care plan that can be easily followed and updated as the client continues to age and circumstances evolve.  Our Services include:

Kristina Blocker (owner of Silver Pathways), worked in geriatric psychiatry at a hospital for nine years before starting her own business (formerly known as Dementia Care Advisors). She made the transition because it seemed to her that families needed more help coping with a relative’s dementia or Alzheimer’s disease than patients did. Kristina consults one-on-one with clients about their family’s unique needs, and provides a wealth of information and referrals to care communities that best fit their situation.

Long Term Care Ombudsman Services Investigate and work to resolve complaints made by, or on behalf of, individual residents in long-term care facilities. Aforementioned facilities include:

• Nursing homes
• Residential care facilities for the elderly
• Assisted living facilities

All Ombudsman services are provided for free and all complaints are confidential. Long-Term Care Ombudsman representatives assist with issues related to day-to-day care, health, safety, and personal preferences. Problems can include, but are not limited to:

• Dietary concerns
• Improper transfer or discharge of a resident
• Inappropriate use of chemical or physical restraints
• Medicare and Medi-Cal benefit issues
• Medical care, therapy, and rehabilitation issues
• Physical, verbal, mental, or financial abuse
• Poor quality of care
• Violation of residents' rights or dignity

Provides an assisted living residential care facility for ages 60 and older. Offers individualized “Resident Plan of Care” and regular observations for changes in physical, mental, emotional and social functioning, with input from geriatric professionals. 24-hour care and supervision promotes individual independence. Families are encouraged to participate as often as possible.

Offers an assisted living care facility for seniors. 

Can provide general information and answer questions about assisted living options in Nevada County. There are no established resources for people with low or fixed incomes or who have Medicare or Medi-Cal as their only payment option.

Offers a residential care facility for seniors. Provides independent living cottages, independent and assisted living apartments, and a special care unit for seniors with memory loss, dementia or Alzheimer's Disease.

Provides units for senior independent living, where residents enjoy the benefits of being in their own place but with access to a full range of services, amenities, and activities. Offers a choice of private suites, ranging from small or large studios to one and two bedrooms or bedroom and den. All have a kitchenette, and a large bathroom with walk-in shower.
