FieldHaven’s Meow and Forever program supports people seeking to rehome their cats without surrendering them to a shelter. 

The program helps guardians prepare adoptable cats for new homes and offers coaching, exposure, and adoption listing support through FieldHaven’s platform. 

FieldHaven also offers guidance for temporary foster arrangements and short-term housing alternatives.

Services include:

  • One-on-one coaching and adoption listing support for owned cats
  • Tips and resources for safe rehoming and adoption screening
  • Promotion through FieldHaven’s website and social media channels
  • Guidance on short-term foster placement and fundraising for pet-related needs
  • Information on preparing cats for adoption, including health and behavior readiness

The Housing Choice Voucher Program (HCV), formerly known as the Section 8 Voucher Program, helps low and very low-income families, persons with disabilities, and seniors live in affordable, safe, and decent housing. This program covers all of Placer County with the exception of the City of Roseville.

CalWORKs provides cash aid and employment services to eligible families with children through California’s public assistance program. 

Services are delivered by county welfare departments and are available in all 58 counties.

Services include:

  • Monthly cash assistance to help pay for basic needs such as housing, food, and utilities
  • Immediate, short-term aid for families with little or no cash
  • Employment and training support to help participants become self-sufficient
  • Eligibility determinations based on family size, income, and special needs
  • Support for families experiencing the absence, disability, or death of a parent
  • Assistance for families with both parents present when the principal earner is unemployed
  • Aid for needy caretaker relatives of foster children

Everyone Matters Ministries (EMM) provides transitional housing for individuals, couples, and families through a fleet of recreational vehicles (RVs), with stays of up to 12 months.

Services include:

  • A safe living space in an RV for up to 12 months
  • Financial literacy support
  • Employment readiness assistance
  • Weekly food boxes (see Food Ministry below)

Food Ministry:

EMM partners with Feeding The Foothills to provide large boxes of food every Friday to each household in the program, helping offset grocery costs. Volunteers deliver boxes directly to each home.

Additional Information:

RVs are placed in local RV parks, and applicants must meet park income requirements (typically 2x the rent). Average space rent is around $800 per month but may vary by location.

Crisis counseling
Survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking can obtain crisis counseling at any time, day or night, either by calling the Stand Up Placer 24-hour Helpline at 1-800-575-5352, using our chat feature, or by coming into one of our service offices during business hours: 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. A trained advocate will assess the survivors’ situations, help them with a safety plan, and go over various options with them.
