Each school district and county office of education must designate an educational liaison for foster and homeless youth. The Foster and Homeless Youth Liaison ensures proper educational placement, school enrollment, and checkout from school. Additionally, the Foster and Homeless Youth Liaison assists with the transfer of grades, credits, and records when there is a school change.

The Sierra Community Medical Foundation (SCMF) currently reaches hundreds of people each month in Placer, Nevada, Yuba, Sutter, and Colusa Counties. Part of our work addresses the issues involved with opioid safety and medication-assisted treatment access through the Placer-Nevada Rx Safety Coalition. We are here to help our uninsured and indigent community partners in getting access to education about healthier lifestyles. Our other services revolve around our new physician wellness program which provides opportunities for physicians to alleviate burnout and reduce stress, and our Adverse Childhood Experiences, or ACEs, coalition.

Stand Up Placer offers Recovery services to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, and their families. For more information on all the services listed here, please call our Helpline at 800-575-5352 or our service office at 916-773-7273.

Crisis counseling
Survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking can obtain crisis counseling at any time, day or night, either by calling the Stand Up Placer 24-hour Helpline at 1-800-575-5352, using our chat feature, or by coming into one of our service offices during business hours: 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. A trained advocate will assess the survivors’ situations, help them with a safety plan, and go over various options with them.

Shelter and safe housing
