Mental Health Alcohol and Drug Advisory Board (MHADB) provides community oversight and input on mental health and substance use services in Placer County. 

The Mental Health, Alcohol and Drug Advisory Board (MHADB) reviews programs, evaluates system needs, and advises county leadership on service delivery and outcomes.

Services include:

  • Monitoring and evaluating Placer County’s mental health and substance use programs
  • Reviewing performance contracts and recommending improvements
  • Promoting community involvement in behavioral health planning and oversight
  • Holding public meetings to gather input and share updates

Meeting information:

  • Time: 6:15pm, 4th Monday of each month (unless otherwise noted)

Locations alternate monthly between:

  • Auburn – 11434 B Avenue, Auburn, CA 95603
  • Roseville – 101 Cirby Hills Drive, Roseville, CA 95678

Public participation is encouraged. Subcommittee meetings are also held throughout the year.

Unity Care  works to provide safe, stable and affordable housing for youth and young adults as they age out of foster care, and to provide them with the supportive services they need to achieve self-sufficiency.

Unity Care Housing Programs

  • Transitional Housing Program (THP) - must be referred by case worker. Program eligibility: Ages 18-20 years old, residing in western Placer County, early onset mental health symptoms, former foster youth receiving AB12 benefits.
  • Rapid Rehousing (RRH) - Program eligibility: Ages 18-25. At risk of homelessness or experiencing homelessness in Roseville or Rocklin.
  • Prevention and Early Intervention (PEI) program - Program eligibility: Ages 16-25. At risk of homelessness or experiencing homelessness in western Placer County.

Crisis Intervention Services and Assessments

Trained and caring Placer County Mental Health professionals provide crisis intervention services and assessments for adults and children at locations throughout Placer County as follows:

  • Local emergency departments such as Sutter Roseville Medical Center, Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital, and Tahoe Forest Hospital
  • Auburn and South Placer jails
  • Juvenile Detention center

Children's System Of Care (CSOC) has a Crisis/Child Welfare Services (CWS) Report Line to meet the special needs of children and youth who may be at risk, and their families, in Placer County.

A telephone call can bring help in a crisis. For at-risk children in emergencies and crisis situations, a special 24-hour, 7-day a week, response program is available by calling Family and Children's Services: 916-872-6549 or toll free 866-293-1940.

Auburn Renewal Center (ARC) is a free medical clinic located on the grounds of the Auburn Seventh-day Adventist church. Auburn Renewal Center offers basic medical services to the under-insured, uninsured, and unsheltered residents of the greater Auburn area. Clinic is primarily for people 18 years old, low income, uninsured, under-insured, unsheltered. Children over 8 can be seen on a case by case basis.

Services are every Tuesday 9am-1pm, and Thursdays by appointment.
