The Housing Choice Voucher Program (HCV), formerly known as the Section 8 Voucher Program, helps low and very low-income families, persons with disabilities, and seniors live in affordable, safe, and decent housing. This program covers all of Placer County with the exception of the City of Roseville.

CalWORKs provides cash aid and services to eligible families that have a child(ren) in the home. The program serves all 58 counties in the state and is operated locally by county welfare departments.

If a family has little or no cash and needs housing, food, utilities, clothing or medical care, they may be eligible to receive immediate short-term help. Families that apply and qualify for ongoing assistance receive money each month to help pay for housing, food and other necessary expenses.

The amount of a family‘s monthly assistance payment depends on a number of factors, including the number of people who are eligible and the special needs of any of those family members. The income of the family is considered in calculating the amount of cash aid the family receives.

Generally, services are available to:

Everyone Matters Ministries offers transitional housing program provides up to 12 months for each household in a recreational vehicle.

Everyone Matters Ministries provides:

• A safe space for individuals, couples, or families to live for up to 12 months
• Weekly boxes of food
• Financial literacy
• Increased employability
• Emotional and spiritual support

Transitional Housing:
Through a fleet of Recreational Vehicles or RV's, we are able to provide a transitional housing environment to individuals, couples, or families to have a safe space to live for up to 12 months. We want to help them experience safety, love, and healing so they can overcome the hurdles that led to their circumstances of homelessness.

Requirements:
Each household is required to pay a small program fee, meet with a mentor/case manager, must have a part- or full-time job, and save money each month towards future housing.

Compassion Planet serves aged-out foster and at-risk youth by addressing needs such as housing, life skills, coping skills, nutrition, and employment through over 1,200 hours in their year-long intensive Mentor Program.

Crisis counseling
Survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking can obtain crisis counseling at any time, day or night, either by calling the Stand Up Placer 24-hour Helpline at 1-800-575-5352, using our chat feature, or by coming into one of our service offices during business hours: 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. A trained advocate will assess the survivors’ situations, help them with a safety plan, and go over various options with them.

Alta California Regional Center creates partnerships to support all eligible individuals with developmental disabilities, children at risk, and their families in choosing services and supports through individual lifelong planning as a means to achieve healthy and productive lives in their own communities Alta California Regional Center serves individuals who have intellectual and developmental disabilities, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, autism, and other similar conditions.

The California Housing Finance Agency (CalHFA ) offers an Accessory Dwelling Unit Grant Program, in which eligible homeowners could receive up to $40,000 to fund ADU predevelopment and closing costs (including interest rate buydowns).
