Placer County Air-Conditioned Facilities:

In response to the excessive heat warning, Placer County will keep three of its libraries and the HHS Services Building in Rocklin open throughout the Labor Day weekend to provide air-conditioned spaces for residents in need of a respite from the heat. The Rocklin library will also have extended hours on Tuesday and Wednesday of next week. The list below was last updated on 9/9/2022 at 1:58 pm and is subject to change.

The National Weather Service issues Red Flag Warnings & Fire Weather Watches to alert fire departments of the onset, or possible onset, of critical weather and dry conditions that could lead to rapid or dramatic increases in wildfire activity. 
  • A Red Flag Warning is issued for weather events which may result in extreme fire behavior that will occur within 24 hours.
  • A Fire Weather Watch is issued when weather conditions could exist in the next 12-72 hours.
