Hospitality House offers two transportation programs: Homeless Access Transport (HAT) and Older Adults Access Transport.

  • Both services are free and donations are welcome on the Older Adults Access Transport van.
  • Vans have lifts for wheelchairs and other mobility devices.
  • The service area is basically from the Brighton Greens Department of Social Services office in the south to the Rood Center in Nevada City in the north.

  • A need for service beyond the Grass Valley and Nevada City area can be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Nevada County Now provides para-transit and senior on-demand dial-a-rides for eligible residents of Nevada County. Services are available in Grass Valley, Nevada City, Penn Valley, Lake Wildwood, and other local areas.

Services include:

  • Paratransit: Door-to-door service for persons with disabilities who cannot use the fixed-route bus system due to a mental or physical disability. Eligibility requires completing an ADA application and certification.
    • Same-Day On-Demand Services: Available to eligible disabled community members and seniors 65 and older.
    • Beyond ADA Service: Limited service up to 3/4 of a mile beyond the mandated ADA service area, prioritized for medical appointments. Must be ADA certified.
  • Senior On-Demand Dial-a-Ride: Available for residents aged 65 and older in Western Nevada County. Requires age verification and a completed application form. Trips are provided based on available capacity, with ADA-mandated paratransit trips taking priority.

This resource provides information about bus fares and passes for Nevada County Connects, the public bus system serving Western Nevada County.

Discounted fare cards are available for eligible seniors, individuals with disabilities, and youth passengers. Children aged 5 years and younger ride free.

Discounted Fare Eligibility:

Alta Colfax operates a deviated fixed-route transit service connecting parts of Placer County between Auburn and Alta.

The route:

  • Includes weekday public transportation between Auburn Amtrak Station, Colfax Amtrak Station, and Alta Store
  • Operates along I-80 with deviations up to ¾ mile from the route
  • Runs twice daily, Monday through Friday

Placer County Transit offers the GO South Placer mobile app, which allows customers to request on-demand trips with both Placer County Transit and Roseville Transit via their phones.

The service transports residents within the Rocklin/Loomis and Lincoln Dial-A-Ride zones. Rides are operated by Placer County Transit in Rocklin, Loomis and Lincoln and they cost $2.50 per ride or $1.25 for customers who qualify for discounted fares.

Rides in Roseville are operated by Roseville Transit and cost $3.50 per ride or $2.50 for eligible customers.
