Helping Hands Adult Day Program is a community Adult Day Care Program licensed by the California Department of Social Services. They offer socialization opportunities, peer relationships, reduction of isolation, group and individual exercise, nutritious meals and snacks, counseling and support, medication assistance, and an individual needs and services plan.


They provide an activity program for dependent adults 18 and older three days (Mon, Tue & Fri) a week for six hours (9am-3pm). Cost is $70/day or any amount one can afford. Participants are dropped off and picked up by their caregiver or can ride the para-transit bus in Nevada County.

Specialized Dementia Care Program for early onset Alzheimer's Disease or other cognitive impairments. Safe Memory Care Patio for outdoor enjoyment and activities.

Seniors First's Telephone Reassurance Program provides homebound seniors with “social calls” by screened and trained volunteers.

The purpose of this free program is to alleviate the loneliness and isolation older adults often experience when living alone, or when residing in a rural area with limited access to transportation or social activities.

Call Reassurance provide weekly in-home social calls and also serve as a resource on community services and programs that can help the client retain their independence and remain in their home as long as they choose.

Seniors must be 60 and over, homebound (no longer driving), and able to interact socially.

Volunteer and senior matches are based on shared interests, geography, volunteer availability and personality as much as possible.

Auburn Renewal Center (ARC) is a free medical clinic located on the grounds of the Auburn Seventh-day Adventist church. Auburn Renewal Center offers basic medical services to the under-insured, uninsured, and unsheltered residents of the greater Auburn area. Clinic is primarily for people 18 years old, low income, uninsured, under-insured, unsheltered. Children over 8 can be seen on a case by case basis.

Services are every Tuesday 9am-1pm, and Thursdays by appointment.
