The Yuba County Coroner’s Office, part of the Sheriff–Coroner division, is responsible for investigating deaths within Yuba County that are sudden, violent, unusual, or unattended, as well as natural deaths without a physician’s certification.

Services:

• Handles property of the deceased when no family is available.

Yuba-Sutter legal center for seniors provides free legal services and community education to residents of Yuba and Sutter Counties who are 60 and over.

Services provided to seniors

• Representation in court and at Medi-Cal and SSI hearings.
• Negotiations with creditors and landlords.
• Preparation of simple  legal forms such as powers of attorney, homesteads, deeds, health care powers of attorney, elder abuse and help filling out forms.
• Outreach visits to homebound seniors and those in nursing homes or board and care facilities.

Sutter-Yuba Behavioral Health’s Psychiatric Emergency Services (PES) provides 24/7 crisis intervention and stabilization for individuals experiencing a mental health emergency.

Survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking can obtain crisis counseling at any time, day or night, either by calling the Stand Up Placer 24-hour Helpline at 1-800-575-5352, using our chat feature, or by coming into one of our service offices during business hours: 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
