Public Health Nursing is a program of the County of Placer Public Health

Public Health (PH) Nurses are Registered Nurses who have additional training and certification to work in the community and the field of Public Health. Our goal is to meet preventive health needs of families and individuals, and promote positive health behavior. Our nurses offer in-home care to new parents, children, and the elderly.

Advantage Plus Home Care is a non-medical home care agency that serves greater Sacramento seniors and adults in need of assistance at home with tasks such as:

• Meal preparation
• Escort to Doctor visits
• Medication reminders
• Light housekeeping
• Laundry

• Stand by assist when walking, toileting, or showering
• Caregivers can also assist further with bed baths and incontinence care


Staff at Age Advantage is available 24/7 and free consultations are available. Age Advantage is licensed under the CA Department of Social Services.

The Assistance Dog Special Allowance (ADSA )Program provides a monthly payment to eligible persons who use a guide, signal, or service dog to help them with their disability-related needs. The allowance is to help pay the costs of food, grooming, and health care for the dogs.

To be eligible for the ADSA program, you must meet all four of the following criteria:

​1. Lives in California

2. Is blind, deaf, hard of hearing, or disabled

3. Uses the services of a trained guide, signal, or service dog

4. Receives benefits from one or more of these programs - 

• SSI - Supplemental Security Income
• SSP – State Supplementary Payment
• IHSS – In-Home Supportive Services
• SSDI – Social Security Disability Insurance(SSDI recipients must also meet federal poverty guidelines)
• CAPI– Cash Assistance Program for Immigrants
