Placer County Library system provides library services at a temporary North Auburn location while the Auburn Library undergoes renovations. It offers access to books, DVDs, and online materials.

Services include:

• Temporary Library Services - Located at the Finance Administration Building (FAB), 2950 Richardson Drive, Auburn, offering hold pickups, browsing, and reference assistance.
• Book Returns - 24/7 book drops available in the parking lot.
• Library Card Access - Anyone with a valid ID can apply for a library card and access physical and online materials.

Additional Information:

• The Auburn Library renovation includes electrical upgrades, an elevator installation, new HVAC systems, and fully accessible restrooms, with its reopening expected in Summer 2026.
• Libraries in Lincoln, Roseville, and Loomis operate separately from Placer County Library.

The Placer County Library system offers a Adult Literacy Services which provides free, confidential, one-on-one tutoring for adults who wish to improve their literacy skills.

This includes reading, writing, basic math, English as a second language, and GED help.

USDA Rural Development provides:

• Helping rural residents buy or rent safe, affordable housing and making health and safety repairs to their homes.
• Loans, grants, and loan guarantees to help create jobs and support economic development and essential services such as housing; health care; first responder services and equipment; and water, electric, and communications infrastructure.
• Technical assistance and information to help agricultural producers and cooperatives get started and improve the effectiveness of their operations.

Services include:

• Assisting people with making decisions about their short- or long-term care needs
• Assistance with tools and devices to support daily living including an Equipment Reuse Program, a Device Lending Library, and a Vendor Services Directory
• Making minor home repairs and modifications that support seniors and people with disabilities through the Fix It Program
• Benefits Counseling and planning to help sharpen Independent Living Skills and Youth Services
• Access to computers and the internet, a Friendly Visitors Program, advocacy, information and referral to help answer questions about disability related needs and issues
• Senior Transportation vouchers that can be used for trips on Dial-A-Ride

FREED is a Independent Living Center and a lead agency for the Aging and Disability Resource Connection (ADRC).
