Dependency Legal Services (DLS) is a nonprofit law firm that provides legal representation and advocates for indigent families in juvenile dependency proceeding for children, parents, guardians and Native American custodians in California’s Child Welfare System throughout six counties in Northern California. They only work with clients appointed to us by the Juvenile Court in the Northern California counties. They do not represent clients on a retained basis.
They offer prevention, early intervention services to low-income parents and caregivers in the community. DLS can offer FREE legal advice around parenting, child safety, DV, school (IEP), or even CPS or the legal system. The have a warmline to contact one of their attorneys, and can also offer multi- disciplinary support.
