The Nevada County Public Health Department provides the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Supplemental Nutrition Program, which supports pregnant people, new parents, and children under age 5 with nutrition education and healthy food benefits.

Community Beyond Violence provides crisis response and recovery services for individuals impacted by domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, human trafficking, and stalking.

Services are confidential and available to survivors of all genders.

• Emergency shelter and safe housing (pet friendly) for up to 90 days

Dependency Legal Services (DLS) is a nonprofit law firm that provides legal representation and advocates for indigent families in juvenile dependency proceeding for children, parents, guardians and Native American custodians in California’s Child Welfare System throughout six counties in Northern California. They work with clients appointed to them by the Juvenile Court in the Northern California counties. They do not represent clients on a retained basis.

They offer prevention, early intervention services to low-income parents and caregivers in the community. DLS can offer FREE legal advice around parenting, child safety, DV, school (IEP), or even CPS or the legal system. They have a warmline to contact one of their attorneys, and can also offer multi-disciplinary support.

Placer County Office of Education Foster Youth Services partners with the Children's System of Care to identify provides educational case management for students and foster care.

Eligibility - Open to any foster case.

Youth are eligible for ILP services from age 14 to the day before their 21st birthday, provided one of the following criteria is met:

• Youth was/is in foster care at least one day after their 16th birthday
• Youth is a former dependent who entered into a kinship guardianship at any age and is receiving/received Kinship Guardianship Assistance Payments (KinGAP) between ages 16-18
• Youth is a former dependent who entered into a Non-Related Legal Guardianship (NRLG) after attaining age 8 and is receiving/received permanent placement services

LSNC serves Nevada and Placer counties. Not all services are available in both counties.
