TAHOE TRUCKEE HELPING HANDS
Tahoe Helping Hands provides Grocery Store Trips. Shopping for groceries should be simple—but when transportation is a challenge, it can quickly become overwhelming.
Their Grocery Store Trips Program helps neighbors stay independent and well-nourished by providing weekly rides to local grocery stores. Each trip includes group transportation with a volunteer driver, who picks up several community members, brings them to the store, and drops them off safely at home after
It’s more than just a ride—it’s a chance to check in with friendly faces, stay connected, and get errands they shop. done without the stress of navigating winter roads, heavy bags, or limited transportation options.
To make each trip safe and supportive:
Drivers are background-checked volunteers trained to assist seniors and others who need a little extra help.
Participants complete a short intake so we can coordinate the best route and match neighbors who live nearby.
Rides are free and scheduled weekly based on volunteer availability.
Their team handles all the coordination—you just bring your shopping list.
Schedule: Every Tuesdays at 1pm. At the Truckee Donner Senior Apartments. Safeway, Savemart, Grocery Outlet & the food bank.
If you or someone you know could benefit from a ride to the store—or if you’d like to help as a driver—they would love to connect.
