Placer County Public Health Department (PCPHD) partners with medical care providers in the community, and the California Department of Public Health, to prevent and control the spread of infectious diseases. We investigate and follow-up on reported cases and their contacts. Staff provide education to individuals and in group settings, and surveillance duties to reduce incidents and prevent additional cases.

The PCPHD website includes information about the following communicable diseases:
  • Mpox information
  • COVID-19
  • Diseases A to Z
  • Flu Information
  • Measles Information
  • Placer Mosquito and Vector Control District
  • Sexually Transmitted Disease Information and Control Branch
  • West Nile Virus
Providers can report disease, outbreaks, and animal bites at the Provider Portal on the PCPHD website.
