AMI HOUSING, INC
AMI Housing, Inc (AMIH) is a California 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation that provides housing, employment and life skills programs to residents of Nevada County and Placer County who otherwise might be homeless. AMIH also manages and operates Nevada County Housing Development Corporation. Offers assistance in multiple languages through a Language Line service.
AMIH’s programs can help people who are low income and are homeless, or at risk of homelessness. Any rent payment assistance help is based on their income and need. Some people get help with the security deposit, first month’s rent, and then a few months of rental assistance. Others get help for longer and some for shorter period of time. The extent of rental assistance depends on the individual and their need. A housing counselor may be able to help them find a suitable and affordable apartment in Nevada County or Placer County.
Placer County residents must be screened by 211 for eligibility in order to be considered for Housing Coordination services from AMI Housing. The one exception is the Homelessness Prevention program for residents of Rocklin and Roseville with extremely low income (30% or below the Area Median Income). Call the Homeless Resource Helpline to be screened for a possible CE intake at 833-3PLACER (833-375-2237) or to get more info about the Homelessness Prevention program.
NOTE: Once AMI receives a referral, it may take 1-2 weeks for referred people to hear from AMI.
