Roseville Housing Authority offers the Emergency Rental Assistance (ERA) program. The application deadline was on April 30, 2021.

UPDATE: The ERA Application Window Has Closed
April 30, 2021 was the last day to initiate an application for the Emergency Rental Assistance program. If you started the application process prior to May 1, 2021 and have been pre-qualified, you can still gather and submit your paperwork to participate in the program.

ERA Information
The Placer County Housing Authority and Roseville Housing Authority are offering rental assistance as well as utility assistance.
  • The Emergency Rental Assistance program does not jeopardize other federal or state benefits.
  • The ERA program (or ERAP) is for qualifying households who have been financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • ERAP provides payment assistance for renters who need help with rent and utilities. ERAP provides qualifying households with up to 12 months of assistance, plus an additional 3 months if the grantee determines the extra months are needed to ensure housing stability. Eligible applicants can receive assistance for past rent and utilities owed from April 1, 2020 to March 31, 2021 and may qualify to have a portion of their rent paid for April, May, and June of 2021.
  • All information about the program, including eligibility, required paperwork, and the application can be found at RentHelpPlacer.com or by calling 211 Placer at 2-1-1 (or 833-342-5211).

ERAP is available in:
  • Placer County, CA

ERA Status Updates
No status on denials or approvals of applications can be provided at this time.
No status on the exact payment date can be provided to applicants by either Roseville Housing Authority or by 211.

Approved ERA Applications
Once approved for payment, applicants (both landlord and tenant) will receive a physical letter in the mail stating payments. Landlord and tenant letters go out in the mail at the same time. If applicants have opted for Direct Deposit, the letter will come after the deposit has been made. For paper checks, letters may be sent at the same time as the check. For those who are eligible/whose applications are accepted, (100%) ALL rent and utility arrears (if applied for both) WILL be provided in full payment. For accepted applicants, the ERA program MAY provide future rent and utility payments, at 100% for 3 months rent for those eligible, and the cost provided for future utilities depends on utilities.

Edits to Approved ERA Applications
Edits (such as adding another household member) will need to be completed by the applicant. Call the Roseville Housing Authority at (916) 774-5270 or email housing@roseville.ca.us.

ERA Application Process
  1. ERA application is submitted.
  2. Once ERA application is submitted, RHA's team reaches out to property managers or landlords via contact info. on the application that applicants provide. This is to request completion of the Owner Certification Process.
  3. Once completed, the ERA application is pending.
  4. ACCEPTED applications that are approved for payment = both landlord and tenant will receive a physical letter in the mail receiving funds along with a receipt of funds (or for direct deposit, the money comes first via direct deposit, followed by a letter of receipt). NOTE: Algorithms are in place for processing applications based on applicants' greatest needs. This means that the RHA team addresses applications by priority level. DENIED applications = we are not currently aware of what process is in place for information on or notifications to applicants with denied ERA applications.
