Auburn Interfaith Food Closet serves individuals and families. Clients are allowed to visit the Food Closet once every 30 days. Each family is provided with approximately four days of food proportioned to the size of their family. As best as the food closet can, they provide food that meets the USDA daily nutrition requirements.

When available, they also provide:
  • Baby food
  • Diapers
  • Pet food
  • Gently used children’s books
  • Inspirational books
  • Paperback books
  • Birthday bags for children under ten
  • Can openers
  • Personal care items
Homeless people receive help tailored to their needs. If cooking and/or refrigeration aren’t available, the food closet provides food that doesn’t require cooking or cold storage. Homeless are given the choice of getting their four days of food by coming in once during the month, or three times during the month.

Homebound Delivery Program (HBSD) - In 2020, AIFC added a new program to once a month deliver groceries to homebound low-income persons in their service area. To qualify for the program, people must be unable to leave their home without difficulty, or who don't have someone who can come reliably to the Food Closet during opening hours. Each month, HBSD participants receive four days' worth of age-appropriate food for each member of their household. To register for this program, people must call (530) 885-1921 during opening hours.
