Cornerstone Crisis Residential is a home-like facility that provides short-term residential treatment for adults experiencing a psychiatric crisis in Placer County.

Short-term residential treatment services include crisis intervention in a supportive, group living environment for adults who are experiencing acute psychiatric symptoms. Treatment is designed for individuals who need an intermediate step between a hospital stay and returning home, or who wish a more structured, supportive setting in order to prevent a psychiatric hospitalization.

Cornerstone is located in Roseville, CA. The program accepts admissions twenty-four hours a day, seven days per week.

Persons experiencing acute psychiatric symptoms are referred to Cornerstone through psychiatrists, case managers, therapists and accepting insurance companies. Admission is voluntary.

New residents develop a plan with Cornerstone staff which specifies client participation and services planned, as well as treatment specific to the individual's need. Cornerstone staff provide services and support necessary for each resident to complete his or her plan.

Services emphasize defining and limiting the crisis, planning for the immediate and long-term future, and mobilizing appropriate community, family and personal resources. This is accomplished through both group planning and individual counseling sessions. In addition to working on individual goals, each resident participates in the daily activities of the household. This includes sharing in preparing and serving meals, cleaning and care of the house and grounds.

All services are coordinated with the Placer County Mental Health Department treatment providers to ensure continuity of treatment.
