The Nevada County Department of Agriculture provides regulatory and land management support to growers, market operators, and landowners in Nevada County.

Services include:

• Nursery, seed dealer, and quarantine inspections for compliance with state and federal regulations
• Grower’s Market Certificates, Organic Registrations, and Restricted Material Permits for pesticide use
• Registration and inspection of pest control operators
• Information and outreach on the Agricultural Wastewater Discharge Program (Regional Water Quality Control Board)
• Coordination with Environmental Health and Public Health on the West Nile Task Force
• Assistance with Agricultural Grading permit exemptions
• Noxious weed control and collaboration with the Building and Planning Department

Additional notes:

Wildlife Services is a cooperative program between Nevada County and the USDA. It addresses non-domestic animals that pose a threat to health, safety, agriculture, or property. 

Some services may involve a fee.
