The Golden State Stimulus has been expanded so more Californians are eligible. Now families and individuals may qualify for the new Golden State Stimulus II. California's Golden State Stimulus II (GSS II) is different than the Golden State Stimulus I (GSS I). If you qualify, you only need to file a complete 2020 tax return to receive the Golden State Stimulus II payment.

Find information online at https://www.ftb.ca.gov/about-ftb/newsroom/golden-state-stimulus/gss-ii.html.

Check if you qualify for the Golden State Stimulus II
To qualify, you must:

How you’ll receive your payment
If you qualify, you will receive your payment by either direct deposit or check in the mail (issued separately from your individual state tax refund). Typically, you’ll receive this payment using the refund option you selected on your tax return. The California Franchise Tax Board will issue payments on a monthly basis once your return is processed. If you qualify for the GSS II, use the tool provided by the Franchise Tax Board to find out what you may receive.

Estimate your stimulus amount: https://www.ftb.ca.gov/about-ftb/newsroom/golden-state-stimulus/gss-ii-estimator.html

If you don’t qualify for GSS II, you may qualify for GSS I.
